The 1980s film remake of Frank Herbert’s Dune isn’t a great movie, but it has a strong cult following. Now, Bladerunner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve is putting his spin on the epic with a huge, star-studded cast that includes Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides. Here’s what the actor recently told Vanity Fair about the role:
“The immediately appealing thing about Paul was the fact that in a story of such detail and scale and world-building, the protagonist is on an anti-hero’s-journey of sorts… He thinks he’s going to be sort of a young general studying his father and his leadership of a fighting force before he comes of age, hopefully a decade later, or something like that.”
Along with Chalamet, Dune also stars: Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem.
