Actor Dylan Baker who played Dr. Curt Connors in the previous “Spider-Man” films is set to reprise his role in “Spider-Man 4,” and offers a glimmer of hope that his scaly alter ego, The Lizard, may finally appear as a one of Spidey’s many foes.
The biggest mystery when it comes to Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 4” has been who will be the film’s main villain(s). While Raimi himself had previously stated that the villain’s story would eventually be told, he conceded that it may not happen in “Spider-Man 4.”
During a Q&A session following a screening of the horror flick “Trick ‘r Treat,” Baker had confirmed his involvement in “Spider-Man 4.” What he didn’t say however was whether his character will remain in the background or to finally be a frontrunner to the film’s villainous role. Even film’s director Michael Dougherty joked that Baker would essentially remain a background character—an assessment that Baker acknowledged as likely.
At this time, it’s really anybody’s guess. But with Baker already onboard the likelihood of The Lizard appearing in “Spider-Man 4” does improve. Because if I was a betting man, those are odds I’d be willing to take.
