If you had any concerns that Daredevil wouldn’t be popping up in Marvel’s upcoming Echo miniseries, this clip streamed on Sky Sports in the UK should make you happy.
In the new clip Echo (Alaqua Cox) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox) – No relation can be seen beating each other up for just over a minute. It’s great to see Cox back in his Netflix uniform (or close to it), but I couldn’t help wondering why he looked so bored during this fight. It looked like the fight was more of a nuisance than a struggle for him. There’s no sense of urgency from his character in the scene. Now, that might be part of the story. He could have Echo so outmatched the first time they go up against each other that it looks something like this. But, as she gets better and more powerful, she eventually becomes an equal to him.
Honestly, that’s the only excuse that makes sense. Otherwise, it looks more like a choreography run-through than an actual fight scene.
You’ll be able to see every episode of Echo when Disney+ drops the series on January 9th. The release is a big departure from the normal MCU TV model of releasing an episode a week. It could be part of Marvel trying to stem concerns from fans, or it could be that the series is either bad or takes 3 of the 5 episodes before it starts getting interesting.
