We’ve said a lot of bad things about the proposed reboot of The Munsters from Bryan Fuller. I still think that it is probably a very bad idea, but the new announcement that Eddie Izzard is set to sign on as a producer and to Grandpa Munster has me at least a little bit interested.
Here’s the report from Deadline:
Izzard will play Grandpa, the Munster family patriarch, a powerful, ancient vampire with an irrepressible twinkle in his eye. He can shapeshift into rats, wolves, and other creatures at will, but he’s also dapper and charming in a fedora; he is a Don Juan-type womanized with penchant for flashy, sexy outfits.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
