While Eliza Dushku has been keeping herself busy being unemployed by appearing in Freddie Wong’s YouTube videos, she has recently signed on to star in a new “Torchwood” animated spinoff web-series.
It won’t be a traditional animated series however, but instead an animated motion comics series called “Torchwood: Web of Lies” which is based on Starz upcoming series “Torchwood: Miracle Day.” The animated series will also feature voice appearances by “Torchwood” stars John Barrowman (Capt. Jack Harkness) and Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper).
This new animated series is being written by genre specialist Jane Espenson, who has not only worked on “Battlestar Galactica” and “Torchwood,” but has also worked with Dushku on both “Dollhouse” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Ryan Scott will co-write.
“Torchwood: Web of Lies” will consist of 10 three-minute videos and fans can expect their release prior to the “Torchwood” premiere on July 8th. The plan is to release a new episode online after each new Miracle Day episode.
