Deadline is reporting that Eliza Dushku, formerly of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse is now set to co-star in the new reboot of the classic TV heist series, The Saint.
According to the report, she’ll be starring along side Adam Rayner, who has been cast as Simon Templar. The pilot for the show is being directed by Simon West. Dushku has been cast in the role of Patricia Holm, his on-again, off-again romance.
Adding credibility to the new series is Roger Moore, who actually played Templar himself in the original 1960’s TV series. He’ll be coming on as a producer of the show.
The Saint has a long history, especially in the UK, where the 70+ book series is a best seller and where there has already been a TV series and 15 films. 1997, Val Kilmer starred in a US film… but it sucked.
