Yesterday we wrote that Entertainment Tonight was going to give us our first look at “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” via a Tweet from director Jon Chu (Step Up). The footage has since aired and while we were hoping for footage from the film, what we got instead was a great behind-the-scenes look and set visit with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Roadblock), D.J. Cotrona (Firefly) and Adrianne Palicki (Lady Jay) about the film production and their characters.

Johnson took some time to talk about how much of a BAMPF Roadblock is in the new movie and also how great it was to have Bruce Willis on set as Joe Colton, the Original Joe. Meanwhile Palicki made sure that everyone knew her Lady Jaye character was actually the brains of the whole operation.

“He’s a BAMF,” Johnson says about his character Roadblock in the film. “Roadblock is a BAMF — a bad a** mother f*****,” he jokes.

Johnson also talks about his close working relationship with action legend Bruce Willis, who plays Joe Colton in the film, the creator of the G.I. Joes.

“Bruce is the man,” he reveals. “We’ve been buddies for some time now. … He’s iconic in our business on many levels.”

But just how close are these two action studs?

“He held my legs, I was doing sit-ups,” he jokes about the two working out together. “Well, we compare many things — we compare our love for Haiku poetry, we compare our voices because he can sing, I can sing …”
