Evangeline Lilly (Lost) sure isn’t taking any off time from work despite the conclusion of “Lost.” She and Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) will join Huge Jackman (Wolverine Origins, X-Men) in Shawn Levy’s new sci-fi drama involving robot-boxing called “Red Steel.”
Hugh Jackman stars as a former boxer who reunites with his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) to train a robot for the robot boxing championship. It’s a sci-fi drama that takes place either in the future or in an alternate world where battling robots is more awesome than MMA and the UFC.
Mackie will play a boxing promoter while Lilly will play a friend of Jackman’s character.
Shooting for “Red Steel” will begin this June and the film has a tentative November 18, 2011 release date.
