Expendables 2 isn’t even out and they are already talking about how to make it bigger and badder for Expendables 3. Not bad for a franchise that no one would get behind because it was just a bunch of old, washed up action heroes. Total film is reporting that they’ve already locked up Nicolas Cage for a role in the next film… but wait, there’s more! The studio is planning getting any action hero they can to join the film. In fact, there are rumors that they’ll be digging up Steve McQueen and turning him into a zombie for the film. OK, maybe not, but check this out from the film’s producer, Avi Lerner:
We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys, we’ve got a character in mind for him. We’re talking to Harrison Ford. [And we want] Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison. I’ll give you one more name, we’ve got Nicolas Cage to play [one of the characters].”
“And we’re going to bring Mickey Rourke back, if he won’t be too crazy. I like Mickey. And of course, all the existing stars [will return]”
It’s a hell of a thing when a movie has to plan around someone’s prison release and it isn’t Lindsay Lohan.
