James Gunn’s superhero horror film Brightburn is set to hit theaters this week and the final trailer is setting up a fairly terrifying popcorn flick. While I wish they would stop using that same scene with the lady getting glass in her eye in every single trailer, there is a lot of other good footage, including a curious new scene that is either a new flashback or a bad dream about when they first find the boy in the woods.
What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.
