As most of you know, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” hits theaters next year. With the hype and the bandwagon mentality of Hollywood, Variety is reporting that Chuck Russell is now creating a 3D adventure based on timeless classic “The Arabian Nights.”
Russell has directed other “sand-y” blockbuster adventures such as “The Mummy” as well as its spin-off “The Scorpion King.” With a $70 million budget, “The Arabian Nights” is going to be nothing short of epic despite not being based on the original tale comprised of 1001 stories.
No, Hollywood has decided to spin it differently into a solo tale about a young military commander who joins forces with Sinbad, Aladdin, and a Genie to rescue storyteller Scheherazade from the dark forces that have murdered the king.
