First Full Trailer Released For ‘Ocean’s 8’

Yesterday, we got our first look at the all female cast of the Ocean’s 11 spin-off/ reboot, Ocean’s 8. Today, we are getting a full story trailer that pretty much lays out the plot and roles that every character plays within it. Much to my surprise, it actually looks really good! The surprise has nothing to do with the all female cast. I just expect all spin-offs and reboots to suck based off of the fact that most reboots and spin-offs have sucked.

It looks like we’ll be getting a film that is very much in the spirit of the original, but with a new, talented cast that includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Richard Armitage. One of the things I like here is that they’ve managed to justify the female cast with the heist. This is not a crime that I think Danny Ocean and his band of good-hearted baddies could actually pull off. One of my biggest concerns was that they would just waste the talented cast on a plug and play heist that could have easily been filled with members of the original three films. It’s a big sigh of relief to see that didn’t happen. Now we just have to wait until next June before we get to see the movie.
