For the second time in as many years, they are trying to make a Powers TV series, based off the Brian Michael Bendis comic. The first attempt never made it past the pilot. Now, we’ve got the first images of Sharlto Copley and Susan Heyward as the lead characters, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim
in the new version. For me, the look is so far off from the comics that it’s hard for me to connect.
The premise of having a detective show where there’s a special team who works only on cases involving super heroes is still great, so if the writing and acting is solid, I could get over it. That said, if I had to choose between this and seeing Simon Pegg do a film adaptation of The Boys… there’s no question which one I’d choose.
