First Images of ‘Mr. Robot’s’ Rami Malek As Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

The last I had heard about the long in the works Freddie Mercury biopic, Sacha Baron Cohen had just quit because the surviving members of Queen were trying to hijack the script. Well, the movie is still getting made, and X-Men director, Bryan Singer is helming the project. What a lot of people didn’t realize however, is that Mr. Robot’s Rami Malek has taken over the lead role. Today we are getting our first look at Malek in full “Mercury,” and it looks pretty impressive. I wonder if he’ll be doing any of the singing in the film or if he’ll be lip syncing the real thing?

Joining Malek for the film are: Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, Gwilym Lee as Brian May, Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon, and Aidan Gillen as Queen’s manager John Reid. The film is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day, 2018.
