If you know the back story of Marvel’s Doctor Strange, then you know that Dr. Stephen Strange is a brilliant, but arrogant surgeon who loses use of his hands after an accident. In an attempt to find himself and his place in the world, he sets off on a trek that leads him to a mystic, where he is trained in the mystical arts and eventually becomes the Sorcerer Supreme.
As most people don’t really know much about Doctor Strange, it makes sense that the first film for the character would be an origin tale. All the more reason that the first photo leaked from the set happens to be from Nepal.
It’s not the best pic, and I doubt that we’ll see him in costume any time soon (especially not in Nepal), but it’s great to see that the movie is underway.

Benedict Cumberbatch is just one of the great actors involved in what is shaping up to be the most critically acclaimed cast ever assembled for a Marvel film. Also starring are: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, and Michael Stuhlbarg.
