The first trailer is out for Netflix’s the OA, a new sci-fi mystery series from the streaming network. The show comes out this week, and very little is known about it, save for the casting, which is led by indie star, Brit Marling.
In the new series, she plays a woman named Prairie Johnson, a blind woman that’s been missing since her childhood disappearance. When rediscovered as an adult, she’s got her vision back. The reaction of the town to the “miracle” and the details of his missing time set off a chain of events that could make this show the new “Stranger Things.”
Joining Marling in the cast are: Emory Cohen (Brooklyn), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Jason Isaacs (Fury), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact), Patrick Gibson (The Tudors), Brendan Meyer (The Guest), and Brandon Perea.
Based on the trailer, it looks like we’re in for something more interesting than what most of the regular networks are currently offering.
