For me, Judd Apatow’s films have been hit or miss, but he does have a great eye for talent. For better or worse, Seth Rogen would not be nearly as big as he is now without Knocked Up. I’m hoping that Trainwreck will do the same for Amy Schumer. While she’s not completely unknown, the comic (who has been renewed for her third season on Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central) is a comic that a lot of people still, surprisingly don’t know. In the film, she plays a “Modern” woman, with the inability to create an emotional attachment to a man that lasts longer than she can get dressed after the first date. When she meets a sports doctor, played by Bill Hader, all that changes.
Official Synopsis:
Since she was a little girl, it’s been drilled into Amy’s (Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn’t realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.
