As far as I’m concerned, this trailer is brought to you by the letters B and S. Several months ago, we reported that Sesame Street had cut a deal with HBO that would mean all new episodes appear on the pay network for a year exclusively before heading to the kids who can’t afford cable on PBS. For me, the idea of restricting access for a year for something that is at least partially funded by public television, is borderline criminal. Yes, it’s cute that they will have even more celebrities than ever before… because now Sesame Street just got extra trendy with it’s HBO affiliation, but it just feels wrong.
New episodes of Sesame Street will begin airing on PBS in January. For those of you who can’t afford the pay channel, your kids can suck it and watch reruns for a year.
