First Trailer For Smurfs: The Lost Village The All CGI Reboot

The only reason this movie is happening is 80% of the last sequel’s gross that came from the foreign box office. If they were just accounting for the US take, the film made $71 million against a production cost of $105 Mil. That being said, if the Smurfs were to have any chance at a good movie, I’m glad to see that they’ve at least bee smart enough to pull the horribly conceived live action crap they attempted, out of it.

Along with losing live action, they’ve also lost some of the original voice cast. Instead of Katy Perry as Smurfette, now you get Demi Lovato as Smurfette. Instead of the recently deceased Jonathan Winters, Mandy Patinkin will now be Papa Smurf, Standing in for the live action Hank Azaria, Rainn Wilson the cartoon Gargamel. Joe Manganiello is now Hefty, Danny Pudi is Brainy Smurf and Jack McBrayer is Clumsy Smurf. There’s no word yet on whether Paul Ruebens will be reprising his role as Jokey Smurf. Smurfs: The Lost Village opens in theaters April 7, 2017.

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a rollercoaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history!
