In a recent interview with IGN, actor Andy Serkis who plays Gollum in “The Lord of the Rings” and the upcoming “Hobbit” films, hinted that the first trailer for Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: A Unexpected Journey” is expected to be out this December!
“There will be a trailer fairly soon, actually. Around Christmas time, I believe. It’s just around the corner,” says Serkis.
With “The Adventures of Tintin,” a Peter Jackson produced film, set for theatrical release this December 21st, it leads us to believe that the new “Hobbit” teaser would be attached to that. Or at least it would make the most sense, as per our speculation.
I really hope that we do get to see a teaser this Christmas. It’d be one hell of a Christmas present and a great way to end 2011.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
