A lot of people ask why they are still making these films. The first one was clever, but then the premise gets pretty old, pretty fast. There’s two reasons. The first is that they are cheap as hell to make. The last one only cost $5 Million Dollars and the original Paranormal Activity film only cost $15,000 to make. You can make that up on two screenings in a decent size cinema.
The second reason is that people go to it. Cheesy as the films might be, they still provide people with a couple good seat-jumping scares. This has led to the films averaging over $90 million dollars each at the box office domestically. For that kind of return, you can expect that we will eventually see Paranormal Activity 40.
