We recently reported that there was a biopic about the early years of JRR Tolkien in the offing Starring Nicholas Hoult as the war veteran and writer of the Lord of The Rings and Hobbit series. Now, the first trailer for the film is out and we are being treated to a movie that should be a treat for fans of the author’s work.
Along with Hoult, Tolkien also stars Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris, and Derek Jacobi.
Tolkien hits theaters on May 10th.
TOLKIEN explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.
