Flight of the Conchords’ Bret McKenzie Cast In ‘The Hobbit’

There’s no word on who he’ll play, but “Flight of the Conchords” star, Bret McKenzie has been cast to play a role in the upcoming “Hobbit” movies from Peter Jackson.

“The Hobbit” follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and tells the tale of how he came to possess the ring of power that must be destroyed in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Apparently, he was actually in the original “Lord of the Rings” movies, playing a bit part as one of the Rivendell Elfs.

Anyone have any ideas on who he’ll be? Let us know. Do you think that he’ll be a major character or is he just going to be another random elf?
