The Fox network announced today that they have renewed Seth MacFarlane’s “American Dad” for a seventh season.
The renewal will keep the Emmy nominated animated series on Fox through the 2012-13 season. The show follows the lives of ultra-conservative CIA agent Stan Smith and his family and adopted pan-sexual alien friend Roger.
“American Dad” is currently slotted in Fox’s Sunday animation domination lineup and has a cult following among adolescents and the college crowd.
Personally, I was never a fan of “American Dad” when it first aired, but it has since grown on me and replaced “Family Guy” as my favorite MacFarlane show. For awhile earlier this season I thought maybe it’d get replaced by Fox’s new show “Bob’s Burger.” So it’s good to know that it’ll be here to stay, at least for another season.
