Word came out a few hours ago that Francis Lawrence, the director of the upcoming sequel to The Hunger Games, Catching Fire has now also been brought on to direct the final two films of the series, the two part adaptation of Mockingbitrd.
This is nice news for people who don’t want to go through the stress of finding a new director like they did when Gary Ross decided not to do Catching Fire.
Lawrence is currently filming Catching fire. When that is done, Jennifer Lawrence will take leave to go film X-Men: Days Of Future Past. That will give them time to prep for filming Mockingjay, which is scheduled for a part one release on November 21, 2014 and a part two release of November 20, 2015.
Catching Fire will hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
