Lucas Cruikshank, better known as his character Fred Figglehorn, the super annoying overly active lonely kid who started a web series about himself, is eying a role in Marvel’s upcoming film adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona’s “Runaways.”
In an interview with Movie Webb, Cruikshank spoke about his interest in the role and that he had gone to the open audition.
“Oh, my gosh,” said Cruikshank. “I want to be in [RUNAWAYS!] Yeah. Those comic books are awesome. So that would be sweet. I auditioned for that a couple months ago, but I don’t know.”
From the sound of it, it doesn’t seem like Cruikshank will get the role. If he does however, there’s a good possibility he’d play Chase Stein, as the cast is predominately female… and well, Chase is the only character he could play according to the call list.
While I can’t say I know much Cruiskhank’s range as an actor, based on 10 seconds of really annoying YouTube videos I saw of him, I do think he looks the part. As much pain as it brings me say, if he bulks up and gets serious, he could potentially be a decent Chase Stein.
