In what is arguably the biggest surprise DLC news of the day. WB Games and NethesRealm Studios just announced that the fourth and final mysterious DLC character for their new Mortal Kombat game is none other than horror icon Freddy Kruger.
Freddy Kruger will be available on August 9, 2011 for 400 MS points or $4.99. Those who are at Comic-Con will have the change to play as Freddy in the Mortal Kombat Comic-Con Tournament, hosted at the GameStop in Westfield Horton Plaza, at 7:00PM this evening. GameStop will also have streaming feed of the event.
Hey, whether you love it or hate it, Freddy’s here to stay. My jaw literally dropped when I heard the news, and personally I cannot wait to play as the Nightmare himself. A piece of me did hope for another character from the Mortal Kombat universe, but hey, maybe this is the start of something new. Classic fight horror game please!
