Both Fox and NBC have announced their renewal and early pickups with NBC renewing all four Thursday night comedies and Fox renewing “Fringe” for a third season.
“We are happy to give these early pickups to these critically acclaimed, incredibly funny comedies,” said NBC entertainment president Angela Bromstad of ‘Community’, ‘The Office’, ’30 Rock’ and ‘Parks & Recreation’.
“We look forward to continuing our rewarding partnership with the respective creative teams as they all consistently deliver quality shows.”
“Drizzle drizzle! NBC picked us up for Season 2 of Greendale shennanigans,” ‘Community’s Danny Pudi excitedly wrote on his Twitter. “Thank YOU for watching and Thank YOU cast and crew for the best job!”
Meanwhile, Fox has decided to renew “Fringe” for a third season albeit its shaky ratings however consistent 7.6 million viewer ratings on a tough Thursday night.
“Fringe tapped into a deep creative mine this year that built momentum throughout the season and helped give us our first real foothold on TV’s most competitive night,” says Kevin Reilly, Entertainment President for Fox.
“The entire team, from the producers and writers to the cast and crew, has taken smart storytelling and top production quality to a whole new level. The rest of this season is mind-blowing, and we can’t wait to get started on the third installment of this amazing journey.”
Nervous “Fringe” fans can expect the second season to resume with eight all-new episodes beginning Thursday, April 1.
Meanwhile, everyone else can rest assure knowing that all their favorite shows are coming back.
