General Zod’s Suit From ‘Man Of Steel’ To Be Complete Motion-Captured

Actor Michael Shannon, who will play General Zod in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot “Man of Steel,” just confirmed that his costume will be entirely motion-captured ala Green Lantern (and we know how well that turned out…).

This of course doesn’t come as any big surprised as paparazzi shots from the “Man of Steel” set had revealed Shannon wearing a motion capture suit for quite sometime now. In a recent interview, Shannon finally talked about the suit and how nervous he felt wearing it.

According to Shannon, “It’s funny, because when I met with Zack we were talking about it before it started, and he mentioned that there was going to be a lot of CGI, or whatever. I said, ‘Just don’t make me wear one of those silly suits.'”

“One of the most humiliating garments that exists in the known universe,” he also described it as “very tight” and said, “It has a variety of different colors and shapes on it, and it makes you feel like you’re the court jester.”

What do you think of Zod’s suit being rendered in CG? Is it even necessary? After all the hiccups WB had with Green Lantern you’d think that they’d shy away from it. The end result did not really justify the price point and time needed to render and layer it properly. How do you feel about all these changes to Superman? Let us know below!
