There are some great and not so great Star Wars releases heading to Disney+ this month that you might not end up loving, but will definitely tickle your nostalgia bone. On the good side, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone wars is finally heading over to the streamer. While Dave Filoni did a great job on building Clone Wars after stumbling through an awful first season, Genndy Tartakovsky created a masterpiece that might be the reason I couldn’t stand the first season of the CGI series. If you’ve never seen it, you are missing out and you should definitely take an hour or two to watch what happens when the guy behind Samurai Jack and Primal tackles Star Wars.
Also on the animated side of things is the Boba Fett animate section from the much-maligned (rightfully so) Star Wars Holiday Special. While most people know him from The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett actually made his first appearance in animated form as great little cartoon short in the special.
Last and definitely least, the Ewok movie is heading to Disney+. Look. We love Ewoks. We even loved both Caravan of Courage and The Battle of Endor as kids. With that said, these do not hold up, not even with the help of Wilfred Brimley. If you’re looking for a Star Wars adventure you can drink through and mock, this will do the trick.
