While this is one of the least anticipated Superbowls in years, it might be one of the most anticipated years in a while for the movie trailers that will be popping up in the ads. Along with Spider-Man: Homecoming and THor: Ragnarok (just to name a couple), we also have this new spot for Ghost In the Shell. I have to say that while I’m still not sure how I like the idea of Scarlett Johannson in that role, this does look like a visually stunning experience. It will be interesting to see how Japan likes it when it opens there this week.
Ghost In the Shell stars: Scarlett Johansson as The Major, Pilou Asbæk as Batou, Beat Takeshi (a.k.a. Takeshi Kitano) as Public Security Section 9 founder and chief Daisuke Aramaki, Juliette Binoche, Kaori Momoi, and Rila Fukushima, and other Section 9 task force members played by Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo and opens in the US on March 31, 2017
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
