Despite all the rumors and horror stories, “G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra” pulled out a major victory for Paramount this weekend when it won the weekly box office battle with a take of over $56 million dollars. Rated by Roger Ebert at 1.5 stars and just 39% freshness from Rotten Tomatoes, fans like our own Miss Bonnified of Bonnified Truth, (who saw it twice!!!) clearly saw something that the critics missed.
Coming in a distant second at just over $20 million dollars was “Julie and Julia,” the tale of two college girls embarking on a journey of erotic self discovery. Just Kidding, It’s a movie about an out of work housewife and famed TV chef Julia Child. Rounding out the top five are “G-Force” with $9.8 million, “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” with $8.8 million dollars and Judd Aptow’s “Funny People” with $7.8 million.
