God/ President/ Narrator Supreme Morgan Freeman has just signed on to play an unnamed role in the upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi action movie “Oblivion” that stars Tom Cruise and is directed by Joseph Kosinski.
The movie, which is Kosinski’s first big project since ‘Tron Legacy’ also stars Andrea Riseborough, and Olga Kurylenko in the story about a man who repairs the Earth’s defense ships during an on-going battle with the aliens who have ravaged the planet. After an encounter with Riseborough action, mystery and shenanigans of some sort ensue.
Who will Freeman be playing? Perhaps President of Earth? Maybe Cruise’s mentor and teachor? Maybe the sophisticated bad guy? We can only guess… until then though, we can see him this summer on his third turn as Lucius Fox in the new Batman movie, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.
Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
