Gotham isn’t a great show, but it’s got moments of being a really good show. On the other hand, they keep bringing back Fish Mooney for some reason that makes no sense to me. It’s like someone in the writer’s room lost a bet or something.
As the show returns from break, the focus is shifting from the villains to the rise of the heroes. What that means, probably some sort of inner redemption for Gordon and the definite beginning of hard core training for Bruce. The villains are definitely going to have their day as well, however. Along with the rise of The Riddler, we can expect to see something going on with Fish Mooney and Captain Barnes as well as the already announced reveal of Ra’s Al Ghul popping up as the head of the Court of Owls.
In the all-new spring premiere, “Heroes Rise: How The Riddler Got His Name,” airing Monday, April 24(8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) convinces himself that he doesn’t need Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) to succeed and begins to introduce himself to Gotham as “The Riddler.” Bullock (Donal Logue) and Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) get caught up in Nygma’s mind games, Gordon (Ben McKenzie) learns troubling news about his father’s death and the Court of Owls reveals its next move.
The following week, Ben McKenzie makes his directorial debut in the all-new “Heroes Rise: These Delicate and Dark Obsessions” episode airing Monday, May 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Then, in subsequent episodes this season, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) lifts the veil off the Court of Owls to find the man pulling the strings is the enigmatic and powerful Ra’s Al Ghul (guest star Alexander Siddig). As villains get more depraved, GOTHAM’s heroes will rise, including Bruce, who begins training to become the notorious masked vigilante.
