One of the early celebrities to get outed for sexual offenses in the recent trend of victims standing up and naming people who have harassed or assaulted them in Hollywood, is Louis C.K.. I’m not going to get into what he did. If you don’t know by now, you can Google it. While other celebrities have been cut from films, recast, or their shows have been removed from broadcast, this might be the first time that we’ve seen a retired show go back and re-record voice work to eliminated a problematic actor.
Show creator, Alex Hirsch just announced that he decided to go back and re-dub the voice role performed by Louis CK in “Weirdmageddon: Part 1″ and “Weirdmageddon: Part 3″. The role is now voiced by Hirsch, eliminating any connection that C.K. has to the franchise.
Here’s a statement from Disney XD on the matter:
“The role was rerecorded approximately one month ago and new versions of three episodes are now on the Disney XD schedule around the world, series creator and executive producer Alex Hirsch is now credited as playing the character.”
Ironically, Louis C.K.’s role on Gravity Falls, was that of a Sweaty, One-Armed Monster.
