After a long run, The CW’s Arrow is signing off and exiting the Arrowverse it helped create. However, that doesn’t mean all of the characters will be disappearing. It’s been known for a while now that the introduction of the character Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara) is all about laying the groundwork for a new spinoff series that takes place in the year 204. Now, Deadline has new details on the upcoming January 21st episode of Arrow which is being used as a backdoor pilot for the series now being called ‘Green Arrow and the Canaries.’ The new series will also feature current Arrow Alum Katie Cassidy as Juliana Harkavy as Laurel and Dinah… both respective Canaries. Here’s what Deadline found out about the new episode:

In the January 21 episode titled “Green Arrow and the Canaries”, “It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Cassidy) and Dinah (Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended.”

“Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help,” the synopsis continues. “Knowing it will change everything, Mia can’t help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city.”
