Guardians Of The Galaxy Video Game Names Star-Lord After Intergalactic Metal Band, Releases Music Video

The upcoming Marvel Guardians of The Galaxy video game looks like it is going to be a lot of fun, but it also is going to do what it can to add a couple new details to the origins of our heroes. That includes the idea that Peter Quill took the Star-Lord name from a famous, Intergalactic Hair Metal Band.

Portrayed by real-life rock band, Consulat, the animated music video is actually kind of awesome with some serious nods towards 80s cartoons and a strong Heavy Metal magazine vibe.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 26.

In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill got this cosmic name from his favorite ’80s rock band: Star-Lord. The music video for their hit single was long lost… until now.
