Guardians Of The Galaxy Video Game Names Star-Lord After Intergalactic Metal Band, Releases Music Video

The upcoming Marvel Guardians of The Galaxy video game looks like it is going to be a lot of fun, but it also is going to do what it can to add a couple new details to the origins of our heroes. That includes the idea that Peter Quill took the Star-Lord name from a famous, Intergalactic Hair Metal Band.

Portrayed by real-life rock band, Consulat, the animated music video is actually kind of awesome with some serious nods towards 80s cartoons and a strong Heavy Metal magazine vibe.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 26.

In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill got this cosmic name from his favorite ’80s rock band: Star-Lord. The music video for their hit single was long lost… until now. Straight from a VHS tape, this is the underground classic Zero to Hero by the Star-Lord band! 🤘 Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is coming October 26, 2021 to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and streaming via GeForce NOW. Pre-order now to obtain an early unlock of the Throwback Guardians Outfit Pack: http://www.gotggame.com/buy Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version for Nintendo Switch also coming October 26.
