Guillermo Del Toro on Lovecraft and ‘At The Mountains of Madness’

Yesterday Guillermo Del Toro gave a talk at Science Fiction Museum in Seattle about The Strain, but he took some time to talk about what he’s got planned for HP Lovecraft’s ‘At the Mountains of Madness’. It’s great to see a filmmaker so passionate about a project… and it is extra cool that we’ll get to see some of the trick he’d planned for the hobbit in this film.

“I’ve been thinking about this movie for thirty years and I wrote the screenplay with Mathew Robbins thirteen years ago. The first time I met James Cameron in 1991, he asked what I’d like to do next and I told him ‘At The Mountains of Madness…. I take my Tentacles very seriously.”
