The first “Green Lantern” film may not be anywhere close to being finished yet, but Warner Bros. is confident that the project will succeed and have moved forward with development for the sequel.
Having done so WB has hired screenwriter Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Where the Wild Things Are) to write the script for the intergalactic emerald superhero sequel.
Goldbenberg will replace Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim who wrote the first draft and were previously hired to outline the sequel. It’s unsure what provoked WB to make the switch, but we can only speculate that it’s for the greater good.
Filming for the Martin Campbell-directed “Green Lantern” just wrapped in New Orleans, Louisiana. But don’t expect the film to hit theaters until June 17, 2011 of next year.
