Hollywoordreporter.com is reporting that there is a new name on the short list to direct Twilight’s third installment, Eclipse. Despite all the brouhaha about having a female take control of the franchise again after the second movie was given to a man, Summit is looking at Guillermo Del Toro protege — Juan Antonio Bayona to helm the third installment.
This means that the race to direct is pretty much down to Bayona, Paul Weitz, James Mangold and Drew Barrymore. As early as today, some Twilight fansites were saying that Weitz has the job.
If you can’t quite place the name, Bayona hit stage hard with his critically acclaimed thriller, The Orphanage.
