The good news is that HBO is planning a big reunion special for the cast of Game of Thrones and moderated by Conan O’Brien. The bad news is that it’s going to cost you to see it. The special is reported to include appearances from actors like Sean Bean and Jason Mamoa, whose characters were both killed off several seasons ago. However, if you want to see it, you are going to have to buy the Game of Thrones Season 7 Blu- Ray.
Basically, HBO has just guaranteed that they will be the owners of the most widely pirated reunion special in the history of television. It seems odd that they don’t just put it on HBO or their streaming service, HBO Go, but it seems like they see this as an opportunity to tweak sales on the DVD. We aren’t sure this is the best idea as the fans who love the show enough to want a reunion special are probably going to buy the Blu-Ray anyways.
