With all the recent buzz about He-Man and Warner Bros. I was certain it was all but a done deal. But Variety reports that the deal to bring He-Man to the big screens with Warner Bros. and Joel Silver’s Silver Pictures has failed.
According to Variety “toy manufacturers and burgeoning movie moguls failed to see eye to eye over the project and ‘reached a mutual decision to let the option lapse.'” The film is expected now to be set up elsewhere, however, “Kung-Fu Panda” director John Stevenson will still remain on board to direct. So at least there is a constant.
The last time He-Man was brought to the big screens was in 1987 with “Masters of the Universe” staring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
