‘Heroes’ Might Return As Mini Series To Wrap Up Story

With the sudden cancellation of NBC’s “Heroes,” loyalists of the show are left without closure to a show that was once flagship to the network. “Heroes” ended rather anticlimactically last February when Claire threw herself off a Ferris wheel in front of the media, revealing her superhero powers. Well as it turns out, the show might return… sort of.

TV Guide reports that “Heroes” creator Tim Kring is currently talking to NBC about bringing “Heroes” back as a miniseries to wrap up the story. The story would take place a year after the events in the series final episode.

“Should the axed series return with a wrap-up miniseries–that’s creator Tim Kring’s hope, and he says he’s meeting with NBC this month to discuss it — the plot will skip ahead a year or so to see the effect of Claire’s revelation.

‘There will be a huge cultural and social change in the world,” says Kring. “Some [of our characters] will be hiding, some struggling, some basking in the glory.’

Claire, who desperately wanted a normal life, will become a reluctant spokesperson for the abnormals. Sylar (Zachary Quinto) will again struggle with his dark side. And Adrian Pasdar will likely return, though not as Nathan, who died.”

According to Kring, the entire cast of the original series is willing to return for the new miniseries project if NBC greenlights it.

At the moment it’s unsure if it will actually happen, because frankly, money speaks (advertising dollars). But you’ll never know. It could potentially bring closure to the show and allow NBC to make peace with some of the people that had kept the studio in business and given execs their new Audis and trophy wives.
