High Fidelity was a great book when Nick Hornby wrote it in the 90s and an excellent film starring John Cusack, Jack Black, and in 2000. Now, Hulu is hoping to strike gold with a TV series based on the story that swaps the main character’s gender from male to female (Zoe Kravitz) but still seems to respect the basic premise of the story… relationships.
A departure from Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and beloved 2000 film, Hulu’s High Fidelity centers on Rob (Zoë Kravitz, who also serves as an executive producer), a female record store owner in the rapidly gentrified neighborhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.
Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
