We’ve been hearing about how Hugh Laurie was set up to play the bad guy in the Robocop remake for several months now. It turns out that the news was wrong. Variety is now reporting that he won’t be in the movie and that he was never really in the movie. He was in negotiations for several months, but those negotiations have broken down. Perhaps Laurie read about how crappy the script allegedly is and he bailed.
The good news is that the film still has an insane cast that features:Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, Michael K. Williams, and Jackie Earle Haley.
