This actually dropped late yesterday afternoon, but we’ve been hard at work on this year’s annual holiday gift guide, and we’re a little behind. If you haven’t seen this yet, it’s worth watching, and if you have, it’s worth watching again. For a lot of fans, Invincible was a better comic book than The Walking Dead. Now, the series is coming to Amazon Prime with a new animated show and the first look is pretty damned great.
The new series stares Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) as Mark Greyson, a 17 year old who is the son of the world’s most powerful here, Omni-man (JK Simmons). While the show is a cartoon, Invincible is violent, bloody, and definitely not for the kids.
Joining Yeun and Simmons in the cast are Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin, and Max Burkholder.
From The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, and based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
