This may not come as a surprise to some who have been following Marvel movie news religiously since San Diego Comic Con last year, but we may have more evidence pointing to the fact that “Iron Man 3” has connections to another upcoming Marvel film, “Guardians of The Galaxy.”
In a recent quote from actor Robert Downey Jr. regarding a possible cameo from Avengers teammates in “Iron Man 3,” Downey teased how he may be getting some galactic help:
“But we can’t help it — everywhere you look now in every Marvel movie there are opportunities where certain new pals of [Tony’s] could be useful. So they’re in the atmosphere, so to speak, but I wouldn’t expect to see them on the ground in this one.”
As cryptic as Downey was with his choice of words, Latino Review unveiled this spoiler of a scoop earlier:
“According to sources, at the end of Iron Man 3, Tony actually does go up into space to hook up with the Guardians of The Galaxy where I also hear he appears at the end of that movie as well.”
Based on how previous Avengers related films have ended, this makes me believe that we’d see this sequence post-credit. It’s unclear if it will just be Tony venturing into space or the entire Avengers crew but if I had to wager, it’d most likely be Tony who learns about the looming threat of Thanos from the Guardians of the Galaxy.
I guess, all will be revealed when “Iron Man 3” hits theaters on May 3rd.
