Jeff Somers’ novel “The Electric Church” may be headed for the big screen thanks to Sony Pictures who’ve purchased the movie rights to Somers’ novel and two other books in his cult sci-fi series.
“The Electric Church” is set in a dystopian future ruled by an Orwellian that exercises its will through the sinister System Security Force (SFF). It follows hitman Avery Cates who’s on the run after killing an SFF croony.
Sony plans to turn the project over to Trevor Sands, who’s no stranger to adapting sci-fi novels. We know he’s the right man for the job as he is also adapting “Hyperion,” another futuristic sci-fi novel set in a dystopian world for Warner Bros.
