From a Q&A panel at a New York City-based convention, Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Joe Quessada teased fans about the awesomeness of Marvel’s upcoming featured film “The First Avenger: Captain America”
“I’ve seen a couple of outlines and an initial screenplay, and it’s going to rock everyone’s socks off,” he said. “It’s very unexpected, the kind of movie it is.”
Quesada also confirmed that the film’s story sets up the lead into “The Avengers,” adding that it does so in “a fantastic way.”
Captain America will be released July 22, 2011 and the story will take place during World War 2 and is said from various sources to be very Indiana Jones like in theme with amazing sets.
Currently Captain American himself has yet to be cast. But Quesada did confirm that they have a wish list of actors that they want to see play the super solider. That list however, remains a mystery.
