Joseph Gordon-Levitt who played Cobra Commander will not reprise his role in Jon Chu’s upcoming “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.”
In a recent interview with Collider, Gordon-Levitt revealed that he will not return as the high commander in the “G.I. Joe” sequel. Given his recent claim to fame (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises), and the fact that the original “G.I. Joe” movie sucked and his face was obscured, it makes sense for the actor to part ways. Gordon-Levitt never really brought anything to the table playing Cobra Commander nor was the part dynamic enough for an actor of his caliber.
Check out the interview below where he also discusses his other projects from “Inception” to “Looper.”
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
